Ludacris is back to disturb the peace with his new album 'Theater of the Mind' due to drop November 24th. There are a few tracks that have been leaked onto the net, that are according to Luda 'unfinished versions'. What I've heard so far is good stuff.
Here is a dope track, Ludacris Co-starring Lil Wayne - Last of a Dying Breed:

Lemar
Lemar is, in my opinion, the best soul singer that the UK has. He is gorgeous, charming and has the most beautiful voice. He rose to fame as a participant of Fame Academy, and has since released consistently great music. After a break, Lemar is back with his new album, 'The Reason'.
Here is his new beautiful single - If She Knew, enjoy!

There are alot of rumours floating around about who will be featured on the album, but Eminem himself has confirmed that most of the album will be produced by Dr. Dre and 50 Cent will be featured on the album!
So we will have to wait a little longer to see the complete tracklist, but until then here is the track he previewed at an event held by Shade 45:

Long awaited Nas video

New single from Nas
his is the first official single from Nas’ upcoming album, it’s called “Hero”. The track features the talented Keri Hilson on vocals. Polow Da Don produced this track and has come up with a crazy energetic beat which will no doubt attract alot of plays on commercial radio.
Even though this track is obviously aimed at commercial radio, Nas does not neglect his lyrics at all. He comes with his brutally honest self, laying down provocative rhymes over every bar with that hunger and power he is known for. I am liking this tune, production and lyrics compliment each other perfectly. Enjoy!

Ironik from the UK
Every so often an underground UK hiphop artist will break through. Although this happens sporadically and very rarely do they remain in the spotlight, here is another artist breaking through to the mainstream. His name is DJ Ironik.
He's been making music and DJing for a while now, and producing for other artists like Chipmunk and Firecamp. Ironik used to make harder beats but has softened his sound alot now.
His track "Stay With Me" is being played alot on national radio at the moment. It has a very sentimental message to it, and it's getting mostly positive reviews. The only thing that can be annoying about the track is the chipmunk vocals in it, however I did hear a version played on BBC's Live Lounge with a girl singing. Her vocals were beautiful and did the track justice.Ironik was inspired to write his verses for his sister to let her know he would always be watching over her if anything ever happened to him, so beautiful sentiment. The beat's pretty nice too and reminds me of Dyme Def's track, "Jezebel" with the instruments used.

LL Cool J
LL Cool J is back, finally! His last ever album for Def Jam, "Exit 13" was originally supposed to be released in 2007 with 50 Cent acting as executive producer, but 85% of the album was scrapped and reworked. 50 Cent is also no longer overseeing the project but will still appear on a song or two. "Exit 13" will also be the first album from LL to feature a "parental advisory" sticker since his "G.O.A.T" album in the late 90s. LL discusses the album in this interview. He says that he took a 2 year break from acting and all the extracurricular stuff to re-dedicate himself to music. I have no doubt this will shine through on his album. I can't wait to hear it! LL is one of those rappers that I miss, from Mama Said Knock You Out to Phenomenon he delivers and really is one of the greatest.
There are a few tracks that have been leaked onto the net which are said to be from his upcoming album, but here is one of the harder ones "Queens" on which he collaborates with G Unit & Kool G Rap. In it, he takes a swipe at Def Jam for their handling of him and his album.
Hopefully there will be some better tracks on the album too, enjoy!

N*E*R*D are back
N*E*R*D are back with the follow up to their second album "Fly Or Die" of 2004. "Seeing Sounds" is the title and is in reference to a neurological phenomenon called 'synesthesia'.
Shay from the group elaborates: "It's a mixture of senses that may cause a person to experience colorful hearing, auditory smell." I think seeing sounds is a great title, so be able to see sounds through colour would be amazing!
Here is the first track from their funky trio, "Everyone Nose" and it's catchy too. I can't wait for the album. This track also produced a remix featuring Kanye West, Lupe Fiasco and Pusha T. The remix stands as Pharrell, Kanye, and Lupe's second official song as Child Rebel Soldier.

New From Nas
The long awaited album from Nas is still being pushed back after all of the controversy over his decision to change the name from "Nigger" . There were many rumours flying around that Def Jam had refused to release the album under the old name, and as a result Nas went on record to say "It's important to me that this album gets to the fans". Def Jam has denied this though, and Nas has made the move to leave the album untitled now.
Here is a statement Nas made:
"It's important to me that this album gets to the fans," Nas told AllHipHop.com in a statement. “It's been a long time coming. I want my fans to know that creatively and lyrically, they can expect the same content and the same messages. It's that important. The streets have been waiting for this for a long time. The people will always know what the real title of this album is and what to call it."
Whenever it is finally released, it will be interesting to see what he comes with. In the meantime here is a track from the upcoming album titled "N.I.G.G.E.R (the slave and the master)", take a listen...

Busta Rhymes returns to the hip hop scene with this collaboration with Linkin Park. The track is called ' We Made It'. It was produced by Cool & Dre and also Mike Shinoda from Linkin Park. This is the first single from Busta's upcoming album, 'Blessed' coming soooon!
I love Busta, and I like Linkin Park, but this track is taking a lil while to grow on me. Still, it's great to have something new from him! Enjoy :)

Frau Aike
I wanted to introduce you do an new artist on the electronic scene!
Frau Aike started producing electronic music at the beginning of 2004 in San Francisco when the creativity of the city, life with a musician gone wild, 20 years of experience with classic piano and a midi-keyboard standing about created a drive that eventually and inevitably culminated in the production of the first tracks.
Her music is strong, playful, warm, tough and different. But her tracks always reflect a strong intuition of atmospheres and moods.
Recently, Frau Aike added even more spice to her life of producing, partying and pimping and took up electronic deejaying. In both her life and music, anything goes - as long as it's sexy.
Get ready for some hot minimal techno, elektroclash and techno :)
Here is a track that I think is amazing, check it out:

The D.E.Y
The D.E.Y
I had heard about this group, the D.E.Y a while ago, on another record. I had a link to them in the left column. But anyhoo, this group...some good stuff here. The group is made up of MC Divine, Yeyo and singer Elan. They follow the footsteps of other Latin Hip Hop groups such as The Black Eyed Peas, and The Fugees. They are due to release their first album in June 2008, called 'The D.E.Y Has Come'. Previously they were featured on Paula DeAnda's single 'Walk Away (Remember Me)'. More recently they have worked alongside Sean Kingston and Juelz Santana in the single 'There's Nothin' (Remix)'.
You can check them out at their website here
or at their myspace here

Wu-tang Clan - My Heart Gently Weeps
This is the track that samples "My Guitar Gently Weeps" by The Beatles. Dhani Harrison, son of George Harrison, played the guitar for this effort while Erykah Badu sang the chorus.
What are we thinking here? It's disappointing that Ghost and Meth and the rest of the clan didn't make it on.
What do you think of it?

Chris Rock on Rap
This is taken from Chris Rock's 'Never Scared' dvd, it is awesome if you haven't checked it....why not?!
In this segment Chris talks about rap, now I agree with everything he says. But I don't agree with what he says about women who like rap. I for one have a big problem with verbal abuse against women in rap, and so I choose not to listen to tracks that have it.
Anyhoo, enjoy :)

Soulstress Nyasha Shani
Combine equal parts your grandmother’s heeding wisdom and mischievous charm. Add a cup of beauty and a dash of and sex appeal. The result is singer/songwriter Nyasha Shani (knee-asha sha-knee), a young woman poised to lead a new generation in the R&B/Soul genre.
To read more and hear and download Nyasha'a track, click:
Originally hailing from Baltimore, Maryland, Nyasha was bitten early by the music bug. Her parents, both working professionals, saw the benefit in raising a well-rounded child and pushed Nyasha into music. She began her music career with the drums and woodwinds, before settling on the piano. However, since belting out Lionel Richie’s “Sela” at the tender age of three, Nyasha made it evident that her heart belonged to song.
“Music has always been my first love; but to be quite honest, I absolutely hated practicing!” she smirks in her East Coast-Midwest mélange accent. “Instead, I would spend countless hours listening to the radio, perfecting my ear, and turning every inch of my house into my own personal stage.” Nyasha progressed from the piano and began studying voice in high school. During her high school years, she furthered her career development through various local performances and talent shows. A jazz-trained songstress with an honors Music degree from Wesleyan University, focused her collegiate years to studying the history of black musics. “I have many inspirations, musically. I love the era of jazz- the Billies and Louie’s- for their musicality and innovation; but I also love that bass-driven Down South hip-hop. My tastes vary depending on my mood, but I can’t deny, though, that I’m a sucker for the Quiet Storm hour. Nothing else can set the mood for me better than a good love song.”
Nyasha has spent the past five years perfecting her talents in composition, arranging, and performance. She has been seen performing in various shows throughout Connecticut and New York, including participation in the ASCAP Make Music New York series. In addition to her musical talents, Nyasha has spent years crafting her penmanship. Since writing her first pieces at the age of nine, she has written and arranged over 150 compositions and songs. With the Ninas, Dinahs Whitneys, Janets and Lauryns as her guides, Nyasha Shani is building her reputation as a strong songwriter, quickly attracting attention for her talents
“When it comes to my writing, I draw inspiration from everything around me- the couple arguing about being pregnant again, a lover accepting the end of a relationship, or a woman who refuses to be tamed. Everything sparks an idea in my mind and the uniqueness of my craft lies in my perspective and word play. Can’t nobody tell a story like me.” The preface of Nyasha Shani’s career has been written; however, her journey has only begun.

B.o.B with Amy Winehouse
Damn addictive new single from B.o.B, which apparently means different things to different people... *check his myspace*
Hailing from Georgia, B.o.B is a producer, writer and rapper. Now to me, he sounds as if he has been influenced by Field Mob on this track. The beat is nice, and he makes the most of Amy's vocals on it. This is an addictive track, annoyingly so, in a good way. Hopefully he'll be able to follow up this success.
To listen to his track, click:
As his myspace page states, he is a 'one stop music creation shop from top to bottom'. Well, the bottom line is, this track will be tearing up the airwaves, and I'm sure you've all heard it by now, but if you haven't check it out, let me know what you think.
Amy Winehouse's sample is taken from her single 'Stronger Than Me'.

Remix over C.R.E.A.M
So, Wyclef, Akon and Lil Wayne all got together and decided to make a track, 'Sweetest Girl' referencing Wu-Tang's C.R.E.A.M 'Cash Rules Everything Around Me'.
Take a look:
But then...they go and make a remix, and Rae even decides to jump on it...check it out:
Now...WHY would they do this?! The original track 'Sweetest Girl' is fine.
I'm not so sure I like this remix over the C.R.E.A.M beat. They shouldn't have messed with it.
What are your thoughts? Do you like the remix?

New Ice Cube
Ice Cube - Gangsta Rap Me Do It
This is the first track off the new Ice Cube album due for release this year.
It is officially the first good rap song of 2008. Ice Cube uses his art to comment on some of the most controversial events of the past year and he does so well. Despite roles in films such as “Are We There Yet” Cube remains a powerful figure in the rap game. He comes strong on this track showing he still has that hunger, which I’m happy to see:)
